Advantages of use of interactive maps by learning geography at school are discussed. Some methodological recommendations concerning their creation are given. By learning geography at school a series of wall maps may be effectively replaced by interactive maps which significantly improve the quality of wall maps. Interactive maps may be used not only for learning new material but also for correction and checks of knowledge, skills and experience of schoolers. At that the efficiency of the work of the teacher is significantly increased. Initially interactive maps reflected only cartographic information but now they must be considered not only as cartographic guide but also as a source of different information associated with concrete territory. Interactive maps are greatly helpful by learning geography, for they develop spatial thinking, activate creativity of schoolers by learning new material, enable the teacher to prepare for the lessons without effort and quick, use the necessary cartographic material for an each topic.
