The article is concerned with the study of the features of geoinformation mapping of the public health care system in Ukraine. The subject of mapping has been defined; it specifies the territorial arrangement of the public services including related conditions and the level of satisfaction of needs in public heath care. As the result, there must be determined the level of public health care and its conditions in different locations, as well as the types of medical service centres of different territorial significance. In the variety of existing information sources characterizing the system of public health care in the country, there have been defined the sources which can be included in a database of the proposed specialized geoinformation system and transformed into the exponents of mapping. The requirement to use the data of state statistics of different regional levels which influences the credibility of resulting records has been pointed out. Geoinformation mapping of the system of public health care in the country with the use of capabilities of geoinformation systems and their distinctive qualities stipulates the supply of reference and converted information in a convenient form, and determines the applicability of the received electronic cartographic models in practice. Application of geoinformation systems also allows for more efficient use of methodological component of mapping which is employed in software. New processing power of the latter provides with an opportunity to resolve more complicated scientific missions faster with simultaneous verification of theoretical concepts. The methods of mapping have been defined, the mapping techniques of the set system have been validated with the following prevailing ones: cartogram – cartodiagram, cartogram – located sign, which in general corresponds to the existing techniques of geoinformation mapping employed in modern software related to GIS.
