The accident at Chernobyl caused significant environmental contamination, the biggest disaster of this magnitude in the world that causes disease in humans and degradation of nature. The most effective methods of operational control geoecological condition is aerospace sensing in different spectral ranges. The current level of development of remote sensing (RS) can retrieve the parameters of land and water with the necessary elements of spatial frequency discrimination and updating information. Methods and practical application of remote sensing data to address ecological and environmental problems in the monitoring of contaminated sites. Keywords: ecology, monitoring, Chernobyl, remote sensing, pollution, analysis, evaluation, radionuclides, observation.
