The study of basics of cartography, as a component of school courses of geography, remains the same during all studies of geography at school. The article is devoted to the historical review of maintenance of the textbooks published in different periods that allows to trace change in maintenance of cartographic component of tutorials on geography. Requirement to the level of cartographic education of schoolchildren changed repeatedly. These changes were conditioned, mainly, by the change of public order of relatively cartographic preparation of students.
